Merinda Park set for victory

MERINDA Park’s A Grade team is in a good position against Pakenham after making 181, and Pakenham was 1/22 at stumps.
Opener Peter Jessop did well scoring 58 and Brett Armitage remained 46 not out.

B GRADE

The Cobras made 220, bowled out in the penultimate over.
Andrew Syddall was the star making 64, with Mark Beecham 39 and Pat Graham 36 not out.

D GRADE

In an extraordinary match, the Cobras hold the upper hand against Cranbourne Meadows.
Batting first, the Cobras made 6/333 declared with John Cuthbertson making 90, Mark Elliott 26, Darren Smith 31, Mark DiPilla 25, Craig Robertson 29, Dion Olszewski 27 and Grant Pearson 20.
Pearson continued his good form with the ball to take all six wickets to fall.
At stumps Cranbourne Meadows was 6/29 with Pearson taking 6/5 from six overs with five bowled and one caught and bowled.

E GRADE

The Cobras are in a great position against Kooweerup and at stumps were all out for 377.
Cobra veteran Ron Hughes made 91 with Gerard Healy 63 and David Spencer 63.

F GRADE

The Cobras lost their match to Beaconsfield.
After the visitors made 8/209 the Cobras were all out for 192.
Andrew Hathaway did well with the bat and ball to take 2/14 from three overs and make 23.
Captain David Field took a wicket and scored 45 with Chad McKie making 23.

UNDER 17

Cardinia made 8/170 against the Cobras.
Marcus Beaver picked up 2/20 from eight overs with Paul Boland taking 2/23 from three overs, with a wicket each for Ben Sonnet, James LaughlinGlen and Matthew Grayson.

UNDER 15

In a White versus Red match, the Cobras White team was 8/175 at stumps.
Jason Pongracic made 45 from 39 balls, including five fours.
Jarrod Armitage made 31 retired and Matthew Hughes 19.
The best of the bowlers for Cobras Red were James Gardiner with 2/18 from three overs, Stuart Martin with 2/21 from six overs and Beau Langans with 1/14 from three overs.

UNDER 13

Playing Pakenham Blue, the Cobras had the visitors 7/148 at stumps – the highest total this season against the Cobras.
Best of the bowlers for Merinda Park were Josh Prudden with 2/5 from five overs, Robert Reed with 2/7 from three overs and Sakila Tennakoon with 1/7 from four overs.

UNDER 11

Playing Kooweerup, the match was ended at the change of innings due to constant rain.
From their 20 overs the Cobras made 76 with Kyle Salter hitting three fours, James Jordan two fours and Brady Boswell two fours.

CLUB NOTES

A charity auction this Saturday night at the clubrooms will be held to help raise funds for the Hughes and Pongracic families due to the high cost involved in representing the state.
The start time is 7.30pm.
