Tower opposition watered down

NARRE Warren North resident Thomas Lee, who led opposition to the erection of a water tower at a King Road development site, said progress had been made on reconsideration of the proposal.
Dr Lee said a meeting between all parties involved hosted by the City of Casey was fruitful.
Dr Lee has written to the City of Casey expressing the appreciation of residents who were able to put their case on the issue.
He said practical solutions to the problem would include an inground tank.
“South East Water deemed it to be too expensive and not practical to build inground tanks.
“However, neighbours have installed two 20,000gallon concrete tanks and the cost was not phenomenal.
“We also propose a water tank at the King Road site sitting on a concrete slab without a tower.
“This would reduce the height by a further three metres.
“Subsequently, the chances of the tank being a noticeable eyesore in the Casey Foothills would be minimized.
“It was reassuring that South East waster confirmed that there would be no further development on the King Road site if increased water supply became necessary.”
