Bullants pecked by Seagulls

OFFICER’S Agrade side suffered its first loss of the season at the hands of Tooradin on Saturday.
In tough conditions, the Bullants dropped some crucial catches, but had the Seagulls 6/71 until their tail wagged to get past the Officer score of 200.
Andrew Tucker took 2/50 from 18 tight overs and Ben Tivendale had the excellent figures of 3/38 from 16 overs.
Tooradin eventually made 279 and Officer will hope to bounce back against last year’s premiers Beaconsfield at Officer on Saturday.
Sean Marchetti won the Shanikas manofthematch award.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz: C GRADE

Officer got back on the winner’s list with a fourwicket win over Upper Beaconsfield in the second last over of the game.
Rod Zlonzak made a big hitting 87 with four sixes and the team applied itself, batting out the overs with Simon Armstrong 53 and Tony Smith 38 adding 85 valuable runs for the fifth wicket.
Wayne Danks batted superbly with 47 not out with eight fours to guide the side to victory.
Liam Main made a gritty 14 to add 50 for the opening partnership.
Man of the match awards went to Simon Armstrong, James Quinn and Wayne Danks.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:E GRADE

Officer made 170 in its game against Emerald.
Pat Tucker scored 35, David Batchelor a hardhitting 33 with four fours in a row and D. Rotterveel 25.
Andrew Crew made eight in a good effort in his first senior game.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:F GRADE

Officer recorded a great win over Devon Meadows with an undermanned team.
For Officer Jason Nicholson again starred, making 51 and taking 3/18 with six accurate overs.
Ben Hale also produced his best form so far this season with 50 as Officer made 5/200 to Devon Meadows 9/122 for a sensational win in hot conditions.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 17

Officer was unable to defend 142 with KilcundaBass making 157 in reply.
Wides and no balls proved costly and Matt Cooper was the best of the bowlers with the great figures of 4/21 off eight overs.
Jayden Bell took 1/7, Daniel Beaumont 1/0 in one over, Michael Haughton 1/34 and Aaron Creek 1/20 off five overs.
Other wicket takers were Neil Adams (1/24) and Andrew Crew (1/21).
Jayden Bell also took two catches.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15

Officer played Pakenham UpperToomuc and the scores were Officer 86 to Pakenham Upper’s 213.
Matt Buntine completed a good game with 2/16 in four overs, Tom Marks took 1/13 in four overs and Ben Martin with 1/15 off six overs was the other successful wickettaker.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:CLUB NOTES

The club will hold its Christmas breakup this Saturday night, 16 December at the rooms as the junior teams play a one day game this week and do not play on 23 December.
The club sends its best wishes to John Tivendale on a speedy recovery and to Richard Francis who ties the knot this Sunday.
