MACKELLER Close, Gori and Renda Courts in Narre Warren North will not get a sewerage scheme in the foreseeable future.
Casey Council decided not to proceed with special charge schemes to have the sewerage installed on the basis of cost.
Four Oaks Ward councillor Rob Wilson said he moved the motion not to proceed with sadness, but the cost was exorbitant even before connection costs to the main.
Casey manager of engineering David Richardson said any scheme to get a cheaper service under South East Water’s backlog system was a long way off.
He said any revised scheme for the sewers would have to meet South East Water standards.
Mr Richardson said in a report to the Tuesday 4 July council meeting that MacKellar Close was made up of 15 halfhectare lots and the cost would be $27,000 each.
He said 13 residents did not favour the scheme and two did not reply to a survey.
The cost for blocks in Gori and Renda Courts would be $24,000 each and only one person was in favour of the scheme.
