On par at Beaconhills

MARC Weiner (handicap 11) shaved two strokes off his handicap, scoring an impressive +11, to win Agrade in the Par competition at Beaconhills Country Golf Club on Saturday.
Bob Douglas was the Bgrade winner with +7 and Gordon Greenway won Cgrade with +6.
Brayden Hackling continued his steady improvement, winning the ninehole junior competition with a nett 26.

SUNDAY RESULTS

John Black handled the conditions best, accumulating 40 Stableford points to win the competition.
Three players returned 38 points, but David Reiner was declared runnerup on a countback from Brian Ludecke and Ryan Milsome.

TUESDAY RESULTS

The stroke competition on the Old course was won by Matt Cornthwaite (handicap 14) with a nett 67 in windy conditions.

THURSDAY RESULTS

Terry Crowe (handicap nine) was Thursday’s winner, on a countback from Malcolm Arscott, with 41 stableford points.

LADIES

It rained all night, but it stayed away for the open day on Wednesday, 20 September.
President Marg Rice welcomed the many guests and made special mention that all of Warburton Golf Club’s ladies had travelled to Beaconhills.
Captain Nicki Charman announced the winners as John Madigan and Andy Biddle, scoring 48 points to win from playing partners and rivals Doug Rowe and Dieter Voigt.
Heather Hamilton of Beaconhills and Mary Barrott of Warburton were the winning pair amongst the ladies, with 47 points.
Straightestdrive prizes were won by Bob Gordon, Dieter Voigt, Ros Wright and Cora Shovelton, while Richard Harding, Pauline Tucker and Cora Shovelton shared nearest the pins.
