Tough win for Cora Lynn

CORA Lynn’s Agrade team was on target with a 12goal win in a tough contest against Bunyip on Saturday.
The defenders were strong against a particularly talented Bunyip attack, while the centrecourt players and shooters took advantage of every opportunity.

B GRADE

In a strong contest, Cora Lynn was the better team in the first half against Bunyip.
Some excellent ball work and encouragement by all players lifted Cora Lynn and after a slump, was able to hold on for a fourgoal win.
Kylie Gunton received the $15 social room’s award for directing the play brilliantly in the goal ring.

C GRADE

Cora Lynn lacked match practice with the new Cgrade team which Bunyip took advantage of with a convincing win.
The Cobras showed some good periods of play, but was unable to sustain it for the whole match.
Caroline Hodgetts was impressive in wing defence.
The team welcomed Jess Van Diemen, Tahlie Patterson, Bree Potter, Courtney Ball and Alyce Edwards.
Score: Cora Lynn 23 lost to Bunyip 51.
Best: Elise Byrne.

D GRADE

A keen start by Cora Lynn against Bunyip for the first game of the season.
Struggling for players, under 13 Amelia Rovers and under 15s Chloe Healy and Ashlee Edwards filled in.
It was a tough game against an experienced side and Cora Lynn showed great potential for the season ahead.

E GRADE

The scores failed to indicate how well the team played.
Score: Cora Lynn 5 d Bunyip 26.
Awards: Rebecca McTighe and Kaylee Gardiner.

F GRADE

It was a great game for Cora Lynn to start the season, with all players working well together.
Its third quarter was the best, displaying skills and excellent teamwork with a draw being the end result.
Score: Cora Lynn 16 drew with Bunyip 16.
