Triple treat for young Brookers players

UNDER 16

Playing Mount Evelyn at home on a muddy ground, Gembrook found the first half slow, Mount Evelyn kicking three goals in the second quarter to nearly even the score. In the second half the Brookers came out harder and stronger to end with a ninegoal win.

Against South Belgrave Gembrook had a comprehensive win with great skill and teamwork. Control of the ruck and good movement of the ball, with good support and shepherding, brought the desired result.

In a tough and physical game the opposition opened up the game early and ran all over us in the 1st quarter, we bounced back to take the lead later in the game, from which point it became a real slog with both teams applying intense pressure around the ball. A top quality game by both sides kept the crowd entertained and very vocal.
