WGCA tips round 5

By Ian Ferguson
INTO the Christmas month now and Devon Meadows hope that the cricket Santa will deliver consecutive wins when it opposes Clyde in its roundfive turf fixture to be played on both days of the following weekend.
The Cougars have currently enjoyed one more win than their close rivals, but the Panthers are tipped to draw level with them at the end of this round.
Officer is clear ladder leaders at present and is expected to continue its dominance by narrowly overcoming the Seagulls in their own nest at Tooradin.
Pakenham continues to scrape home for narrow wins, but the Lions are expected to be trampled when they attempt to corral the Bulls at Cardinia.
Roundfive tips with likely winners in capitals are:
CATANI v Emerald, Tooradin v OFFICER, DEVON MEADOWS v Clyde, BEACONSFIELD v Kooweerup, CARDINIA v Pakenham, Pakenham UpperToomuc v MERINDA PARK.
The two key roundfive games in Bgrade will be at Nyora and Cranbourne Meadows.
Nyora’s impressive bowling strength should see them edge out Beaconsfield, while KilcundaBass has enough overall depth to counter the Rebels’ strong bowling attack.
