INJURIES took their toll on an undermanned Emerald seniors’ team, going down to Yarra Glen by 72 points in round four on Saturday.
After a fourgoalstonil first quarter, the second was more closely contested with both sides scoring three each, giving Emerald an opportunity to pin Yarra Glen back in the second half.
Injuries again took their toll in the second half and Emerald was lacking keyposition players, making it easy for Yarra Glen to continue on its way, posting six goals in each of the next quarters to Emerald’s two and three consecutively.

Emerald tried very hard and showed some great passages of play, but a very strong Yarra Glen kept it scoreless in two quarters, making it difficult for a comeback.

The third quarter saw a different Yarra Glen and against the breeze posted two goals five behinds to Emerald’s one behind.
Yarra Glen took over in the last quarter with the wind and ran out convincing winners.
