Great way to show off, says mayor

By Jim Mynard
BERWICK Show has mayoral blessing.
Casey mayor Colin Butler described the show as “the unbeatable Berwick Show at Akoonah Park”.
He said the show provided a great time to celebrate farm culture and be part of an important tradition.
“So come along to the Berwick Show, Victoria’s oldest agricultural and horticultural show to be held on the weekend of 24, 25 February,” Cr Butler said.
“The show has a focus on family fun for people of all ages. Activities and spectacles include the animal nursery, arts and crafts, sheep, dog, horse and cattle competitions, carnival rides, and fine country fare.
“Overlooking the main arena is the new pavilion, where residents can visit a huge City of Casey exhibition stand. We will offer giveaways, a range of community information, a children’s area and a competition for students. I encourage all Casey residents to discover this year’s Berwick Show, and hope to see you there.”
Show time is Saturday, 24 February from 9am to 11pm and Sunday, 25 February from 9am to 4pm at Akoonah Park, Princes Highway, Berwick.
Admission is adults $15 and after 6pm Saturday $10, aged pensioners $8, children aged 10 to 15 $8. Children under 10 will be admitted free. Family tickets for two adults and two children are $30.
