Maurice runs hot in cold

MAURICE Rossetti defied cold win and hail to shoot an excellent 46 Stableford points and win the competition at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
Matt Yusoff was the winner of Agrade with 40 points and Bgrade went to Noel Bonne with 38 points.
Maurice was also the winner of the nearest the pin on both the golf shop second hole and Hungry Jack’s 14th hole.
Rob Sandiford was the winner of the Pakenham Subway fifth hole and Scott Phillips won the Dante’s Wood fired Pizza eighth hole.
Clint Walker took home the Pakenham Pizza 16thhole award.
The B.M.R. Autos nearest the pin second shot on the sixth hole went to Mick Neylan.
Geoff Anderson won the Bgrade longest drive.

The Pakenham Garfield Challenge was held at Pakenham last Saturday with Garfield coming in the winners.

SATURDAY LADIES

The winner was Viki Maxwell with 39 points with the down the line going to Kerrie Davey.
Viki also took home the nearestthepin ball.

COMING EVENTS

This week is the November Monthly Medal sponsored by Peter Holland Concrete Ltd and then the annual tournament will be held over four days from Thursday, 9 to Sunday 12 November.
Entries close 1 November, so members are asked to submit entries immediately.
The twilight competition starts this Wednesday with teeoff from 3pm and meals available after the nine holes.
This competition is open to all – members and nonmembers, handicap and nonhandicap players.
The bar will be open Friday afternoons on a trial basis, so come along have a round of golf and a pleasant Friday afternoon.

CUP DAY COMP

Those wanting something to do on Melbourne Cup Day can play in the competition.
Buffet lunch (with a complimentary drink) and golf cost $20.
Non players are welcome to join in the buffet for $15.
Bookings are essential, so put names down on the list available in the shop or clubhouse.
The club’s annual tournament will be held from Thursday, 9 November to Sunday, 12 November.

MONDAY RESULTS

A field of 40 players competed in a Stableford event with Trevor Smith, 39 points, winning on a countback from Ben Milnes.
Max Cole 38, Dale Richards 37, Scott Hooper 37. Alex Green 36, Peter Lawlor 35, Les Jones 35, Bob Morrison 35 and Lou Russell 35 were the downtheline winners.
Nearest the pins saw Denby Coggan take out the second hole, Ben Milnes the eighth hole and Bob Morrison the 14th.

WEDNESDAY RESULTS

This was a Par competition and Eric Butcher came in with an excellent score of +9 to win from George Coffey with +7.
Down the lines went to Bert Burniston +3, Derek Garton +3, Harri Capobus +2, Denby Coggan +1, Noel Bonne +1, Rory Sutton +1, Brian Doherty +1 and Bob Morrison +1.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Harri Capobus. Peter Wigney was the winner on the eighth hole and Noel Bonne took out the 14th.

SUNDAY RESULTS

Peter Van Helmond was the winner with 41 points from Albert Hill with 40.

LADIES

On Thursday, 26 October the members had a beautiful day to play Stroke and the final of the medal of medallist.
Leonie Sander was the winner of the Medal of Medallist with 71 nett.
The winner of the Stroke event for the day was Marjorie Dean with 66 nett.
Aileen Fromhold was the divisionthree winner with 67 nett and the divisionone winner was Val Carroll with 68 nett.
The best putting went to Marg Blake with 26 putts.
Nearest the pins: Liz Garvey 70, Rena Bueler 70, Marg Turner 72, Marg Andrews 73, Adele Mahony 74, Loretta Stewart 75, Robyn Jenner 75, Eileen Williams 75 and Helen Aurish 75.
The presentation of the ninehole competition for October was made with Anne Donovan (two balls), Kath Duggan, Bev Morgan and Judy Horne each receiving a ball.

COMING EVENTS

Thursday, 7 November will be preOaks day.
The format will be fourballbestball Stableford.
There will be a hat parade on the day with prizes for the best conventional and the best novelty hat.
