New Emerald shows fight

THE senior Emerald side, changed from last year with the addition of several new players as well as new coach Rowan Pascoe, came up against a powerful South Belgrave at the weekend.
Emerald was shellshocked in the first quarter when a quick and strong South Belgrave side kicked eight goals to Emerald’s one.
In the second quarter Emerald came back and managed to outscore South Belgrave five goals to two. But in the third quarter South Belgrave went on to take the game away quite convincingly. However Emerald showed creditable endeavour, playing with 17 players in the last quarter due to injuries and holding South Belgrave goalless.
