Softballers squeezed by opposition

PAKENHAM softballers scored only two wins in under13 ranks in last Saturday week’s matches.

Pakenham tried hard against the welldrilled, bigbatting Bunyip Blacksox. Ben Miller was hit by a pitched ball while batting but got to first base. Scores: Pakenham 1 lost to Bunyip Blacksox 15

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:B GRADE WOMEN

Murray’s side played short and the players tried their hearts out but the Destroyers were much the stronger side. With plenty of commitment and hard work at training the team looks forward to improved performances in future. Best players were Wendy Wishhart, Stacey Pleog and Kelly Bryant. Scores: Pakenham 4 lost to Doveton Destroyers 15.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:SOCIAL WOMEN

Pakenham’s one run was scored by Karyn Wheeler. All players had a fun and interesting game. Scores: Pakenham 1 lost to Chickasaw 13.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 16 BOYS

In the return match, although beaten by Ravens, Pakenham performed much better than in the first. Good fielding skills includedthree double plays on the diamond that were exciting to watch. Best players were Ben O’Loughlin, Aaron Toughill and Nathan Allen. Scores: Pakenham 2 lost to Ravens 11.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 16 GIRLS

In a good first inning at bat Pakenham scored six runs and in the field kept the Braves to two. Chloe and Annie Moss, firsttime players, had a great game. With a lot of rules and plays to learn they took it all in and fielded and batted well. Scores: Pakenham 6 lost to Braves 14.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 13 GIRLS

Lauren Harris took the first three outs with a great catch then a super double play. Brooke Mason did well catching with Carly Perkins and Rikki Lee Plant sharing the pitching and doing a great job. The team worked well together today and deserved the win. Scores: Pakenham Angels 15 d Doveton Dodgers 3.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 13 BOYS

The Devils played a tight but enjoyable game with best players being Brandon Allen, Mark Broomfield and Cody Johns. The batting skills were evident with six twobase hits. Scores: Pakenham Devils 8 d Bunyip 6.
