MAYOR Bill Ronald did not attend last week’s town planning meeting, citing family commitments.
Cr Kate Lempriere chaired the meeting after Cr Ronald chose instead to attend an athletics event in which his son Sheldon was competing.
Cr Lempriere said Cr Ronald had apologised for his absence.
The mayor said his son had broken a Pakenham Little Athletics record for the 80metre hurdles record that had stood since 1997 and he wished to support him at a followup event.
