Baseball bat attack

A MOTORIST and his passenger were taken to hospital after a confrontation with a group of youths in Emerald turned violent early Sunday morning.
In an incident that police said highlighted the dangers of ‘road rage’ type behaviour, the two men, both aged 18, suffered facial and head injuries.
Police said the motorist, from Ashburton, and another 18yearold from Belgrave were driving through the town when they passed a group of young men in the street.
Police said some members of the group yelled at the pair, who decided to stop their car and go back and confront them. When they did, the two men were beaten with baseball bats. Both suffered facial and head injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
The injuries were not life threatening. Witnesses are urged to contact Pakenham Police on 5945 2500.
