A TOP round of 63 nett gave Geoff Anderson the November men’s monthly medal at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
The medal, sponsored by Peter Holland concrete, was played in conjunction with the first round of the club championships.
The championships are played over three weeks and leaders after the first round are Dan Cameron 72 gross, Andrew Villinger, 73 gross and Mick McManus, 74 gross.
Dan Cameron was also the A-grade winner and John Piggott was the winner of the C grade.
The scratch winner was Dan Cameron.
Nearest-the-pin winners were G. Steel (golf shop second hole), Geoff Anderson (Pakenham Subway fifth hole), Graeme Mack (Dante’s Wood-fired Pizza eighth hole), Brett Hume (Hungry Jack’s 14th) and Cliff Pain (Pakenham Pizza 16th).
The B.M.R. Autos second shot on the sixth was won by Stan Gilbert, with the Unique Bathroom Design and Renovation second shot on the 11th going to Mick McManus and the CTM Bricklaying second shot on the 17th was won by Bryan Delaney.
The B.M.R. Autos longest drive for A grade went to Clint Walker and the B grade to Shane Wilkinson.
The McIntyre Painting C-grade longest drive was won Bruce Lott.

Geoff Anderson, Travis Wheeler and G. Steel all had birdies on the fifth hole.
Raffle winners were Travis Wheeler and Andrew Villinger.
This week is the second round of the men’s championships and the following week is the final round of the championships played in conjunction with the December monthly medal sponsored by K. & S. Waste, Dingley.
PAIR OF ACES
Two members enjoyed the excitement of a hole in one last weekend with Rod Walker, playing at Lang Lang, and Andrew Villinger, playing at Devil Bend, both holing out.

MONDAY RESULTS
A field of 45 teed off with one of the under-21 members Ian Mortimer coming in with a great score of 47 Stableford points well in front of Ray Wilson 42.
They were followed by Noel Bonne 39, Werner Kerber 39, Doug Booth 39, Denby Coggan 38, Owen Bumpstead 38 and Ian Shennan 38.
Al Campbell was the winner of the nearest the pin on the second hole and John Nooy (another young golfer, who also excels at cricket) winning the 14th.
WEDNESDAY RESULTS
The morning attracted 70 golfers for a Stableford event.
Noel Bonne improved on his third place on Monday to win with 44 points.
Malcolm Clay 40, Bob Morrison 39, Joseph Brennan 39, Tony Vallance 39, Stan Gilbert 38, Heath Barclay 38, Kevin Salau 38, Ed Regis 38, Tony Wynen 38, John King 38, Ray Wilson 38,Noel Boyd 37 and Doug Booth 37 were the down-the-line winners.
Bob Broadhurst was the winner of the nearest the pin on the eighth hole.
TWILIGHT COMPETITION
Last Wednesday evening saw a large field of players, so for the first time this season the twilight was divided into the two competitions – front nine and back nine
Front nine results
Robert Morley was the winner with 23 points from Kevin Salau 21.
Down the lines went to Malcolm Clay 21, Heath Barclay 20, Ed Regis 20, Kevin Wraight 19, John King 19, Noel Boyd 18, Al Campbell 18 and Bob Morrison 18.
Jay Young was the nearest-the-pin winner on the 11th (second shot) and Peter Eaton took out the 14th hole.
Back nine results
The winner was Brian Webster with 21 points from Barrie Seldon with 20.
Down the lines went to Rob Wedlock 20, David Jack 20, Beau Wheeler 19, Grant McKay 19, Joseph Kozina 19, M. Van Damm 19, Paul Edwards 18, Kaine Wedlock 18, Ray Barnes 18, Graeme McQualter 18, Bernie Gramc 18 and Scott Phillips 18.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Robert Morley and the second shot on the seventh was won by Brett Harrop who was also the social winner with 19 points.
SUNDAY RESULTS
Eighteen players competed in the Stableford event on Sunday with Albert Hill the winner with 37 points from Gary Bennett with 35.
LADIES
On Friday Kay Jones, Marg Blake and Jean Hoare visited Mirboo North for their bowl and came home with the trophy.
The Pakenham Saturday ladies held their presentation day last Saturday and enjoyed a meal prepared by Sue.
The Eclectic winner was Kerrie Davey and the knockout winner was Carmel Perkins.
Loretta Stewart was the winner of the putting and she also took out the gobblers with eight for the season.
The birdies were shared by Joan Walklate, Viki Maxwell, Jan Creagh and Kerrie Davey.
BEGINNERS’ DAY
The Pakenham ladies held a successful beginners’ day on 24 November.
The captain and president welcomed 12 beginners who joined members for a nine-hole Canadian Foursomes.
Judy Flynn and Eileen Williams were thanked for donating the trophies.
Winners on front nine were Libby De Hey and Lucy De Hey with 33 nett. Marg Jackson and Ros King were the runners-up with 33 1/4 nett.
Back nine winners were Leonie Sanders and Marjorie Dean with 38 nett with Carol Dell and Toni Owen coming in with 38 1/4 nett to be the runners-up.
The member-member winners were Liz Garvey and Rena Bueler with 31 1/2 nett.
Faye Leighton and Wendy Wightman came in with 33 1/3 to be the runners-up.
All beginners received a bag of goodies and a ball donated by the club.
COMING EVENTS
Next week the ladies will travel to Trafalgar for their annual picnic day and to vie for the Brett Ogle Trophy.
The bus will leave Pakenham Golf Club at 7.30am sharp.
The 2005 ladies event calendar is nearly completed with only a four-ball-best-ball Par event on Thursday, 8 December and presentation day on 15 December,
A ball competition will be held on a Thursday morning during January.
Hit off is from 8am to 8.30 am. All players must report to the golf shop by 8.15am.
