Pioneers spread the word

MARANATHA Christian School will open a new campus at Officer next year.
The school, which already has campuses at Doveton and Endeavour Hills, is preparing to expand to Officer to cater for the continuing growth in the area.
The new campus at Officer will cater initially for students from prep to year seven and is expected to eventually cover all year levels.
David Gleeson has been appointed as the new head of the campus.
He has been working at Maranatha since 1987, teaching primary and secondary classes.
School principal Andrew Mackenzie said the Maranatha community was delighted at the prospect of Mr Gleeson leading the ‘pioneers’ at Officer.
“He will initially teach some of the year seven curriculum and lead a strong team delivering the primary curriculum,” Mr Mackenzie said.
“He has a strong relationship with parents, teachers and students and cares about the individual journey of each child.
“David has already begun meeting the many new families with children commencing at our Officer campus next year.”
Parents in the local area have been crying out for new schools, particularly statefunded primary and secondary schools.
The new Maranatha campus will also likely be welcomed in the community as providing further choices in Christian education.
