BERWICK Junior Football Club players had a great night at the DDJFL presentation day, with six players winning a range of awards.
Under 16 Maddison Andrews has played his entire career with the Berwick Junior Football Club with an outstanding 124 games under his belt. Maddi plays on the ball and applies great pressure to the opposition when tackling, shepherding and bumping players from the ball. Maddi polled 15 votes to be equal third best and fairest in the DDLFL under16 Premier Division.
Under14 Locky Burke has enhanced his reputation even further this year. After backtoback best and fairest wins in 2004 and 2005, Locky polled 22 votes in the DDJFL’s competition for under14 Premier Division to be equal third this year. He captained his side, undefeated, to the finals and has now captured the Premiership Cup after accounting for Narre Foxes at Robinson Oval, Doveton, on Sunday.
Callum Barnett was the DDJFL’s leading goal kicker with 40 goals for 2006. Callum also represented Berwick in the DDJFL Inter League side this year.
Under 12 player Mitchell Barnett, a newcomer to the Berwick Junior Football Club, capped off his season with equal first in the DDJFL best and fairest for under 12 Blue. His team won the under12 Blue Division Cup on Sunday.
Under 11 Toby Myers polled 13 votes on Monday night to be equal third in the DDJFL best and fairest for under11 Blue. Toby represented Berwick in the DDJFL Inter League 2006.
Under 10 Jayden Young won the DDJFL best and fairest for under10 Blue. He polled 16 votes.
