PAKENHAM Horse Trials were held on the weekend of 18 and 19 February and despite the hot conditions were described as very successful.
There were an increased number of competitors in both the Pony club and Equestrian Federation of Australia (EFA) sections.
The new showjumping sand arena provided an excellent surface and the scenic crosscountry course that had been totally rebuilt over the past two years was deemed to be a safe and challenging course by the EFA delegate.
The winners were prenovice: Shannon Harris on Sunvalley Donnerhe from Wonga Park, preliminary: Sarah Tipping on LPMcCubbin from Hamilton, intro A: Jane Griffin on BBJumping JackFlash from Garfield and intro B: Leah Rodwell on Barry from Mill Park.
Pony Club gradeone: Georga Leach on Yurara Sandstone from Mainridge PC, grade two: Sarah Hunt on Misters Law from Pakenham PC, grade three (equal winners): Rebecca Rundle on Oakdale Overlander, Chloe Mowson on Tequila and Kathryn Stewart on GP Black Douglas and grade four: Kelsey Herbert on Buddy Biscuit.
