PROCEEDS from a Ladies Day at the Pakenham Racecourse have given a $2000 boost to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
The money was raised via raffles in the Indulgence and Diva Marquees on Oaks Day on 6 November, as well as other functions and events associated with the day.
Pakenham Racing Club committee members Yvonne Blackwood and Frances Knaap handed over the cheque to Dawn Leicester, a volunteer of the National Breast Cancer Foundation Speakers’ Bureau, on Thursday.
Ms Leicester is a breast cancer survivor and, after a course of chemotherapy and a mastectomy, is now fully fit and enjoying life.
