GARDENERS from all over Melbourne dug in and got their hands dirty during a permablitz at Kooweerup’s Regional Health Centre.
Saturday’s working bee attracted 50 people armed with gloves, ready to lend a hand to the community project.They planted citrus trees, mulched and established a herb garden on the day. Lunch included pumpkin soup, made from pumpkins grown in the community garden at the health centre.
A permablitz is an informal gathering where two or more people create or add to edible gardens, building community networks in the process.
