A NEW partnership between Kooweerup Regional Health Service and MIND is assisting people with mental illness in getting their lives back on track.
The Dandenong/Cardinia Personal Helpers and Mentors Service is available to people who have the ability, with outreach support, to gain the necessary skills to live a meaningful life in their community.
The program focuses on helping individuals recover their identity, self-worth, self-esteem, dignity and dreams.
The program is based in Dandenong, but also has satellite services based at the community health service at Cockatoo and the Kooweerup hospital.
Participants must be 16 years or over with a diagnosed or undiagnosed mental illness and reside in the designated postcodes or catchment areas.
For details call 5997 9769 on Tuesdays between 11.30am and 3.30pm.
