Youth on board

CARDINIA’S MYBus made a pit stop at Pakenham Place on Friday – the first of many fortnightly visits.
Young people made the most of the fun-filled coach, which boasts a Nintendo Wii, DVD player, six laptops, board games and arts and craft materials.
The bus wheeled those fun activities right throughout the shire during the September school holidays.
The MYBus also provides information on local services, programs and events as well as information on the dangers of drugs and alcohol, health, wellbeing and other relevant youth topics. Pakenham Place launched the fortnightly MYBus visits with a sausage sizzle.
Pakenham Place Centre manager Stephen Blanch said the shopping complex was looking forward to regular MYBus visits every fortnight on Friday between 3.30pm and 5pm.
“Supporting youth services in the area is important, and we are pleased to be able to provide MYBus a local, ongoing location for young people to access essential services in a fun and entertaining environment,” he said.
