Free workshops on marketing art

A SERIES of free workshops will be held to help artists market their skills.
The Cardinia Shire Council and the Arts Management Advisory Group are offering the sessions to groups, organisers and artists in October and November.
The workshops, ‘Advertising and Publicity on a Shoestring’ and ‘Marketing in the Arts Arena’, will be run by artist and entrepreneur Virginia Maywald, who turned her small arts practice into a highly successful business exporting ceramics for the hotel industry.
The workshops are designed to assist members of the arts community to develop their promotion and marketing skills including promoting a group, event or festival and how to build a profile.
Sessions will be held at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham, and at the Gem Community Arts Centre, 19 Kilvington Drive, Emerald.
All workshops run from 6pm to 8.30pm. For bookings or further information phone 1300 787 624.
