LAST Wednesday’s Warragul Fat Cattle Sale at the Baw Baw Livestock Exchange saw vealers sold to stronger demand, driving the price upward. This was also repeated in the heifer division.
Bullocks remained firm on last week, with steers easing in the lighter end, while heavy steers also lifted for the sale.
Bullocks faired well with good demand and ranged from 146.6 to 174.
Heifers had a very good sale rising 13 cents, heavy heifers made from 78.2 to 182.2 and light 112.2 to 130.2.
Steers carried a good weight and condition among the top end with prices ranging from 100.2 to 199.2.
Vealers were yarded and had a strong sale, heavy vealers 300 kilograms-plus made from 116.2 to 230, while light were from 112.2 to 170.
The Thursday Bull and Cow Sale saw prices rise in both categories, both light and heavy cows sold to good demand.
Bulls rose 15 cents to 144.8 and ranged from a low of 125.2 to a high of 158.6.
Cows made a six cent rise on average to 120.2, heavy cows topped at 146.6 from 74.2 and light made from 74.2 to 94.2.
