Marygoon’s slow ground

NAR NAR GOON/Maryknoll played at home against Tooradin on a ground that was slow and damp. Winning the toss, Nar Nar Goon/ Maryknoll elected to bowl first.
It was a good opening spell by Brendan McGrath and Ken McLeod with 15 overs for 29. Craig Lewis and Steve Lewis then came into the attack and had good success. Craig Lewis nine overs 3/15, Steve Lewis nine overs 1/24.
Scott Musgrove and Noel O’Brien finished the bowling well – Noel seven overs 4/14 was pivotal in keeping the score below 100. Musgrove five overs 2/15. Tooradin dismissed for 95.
Nar Nar Goon/Maryknoll top order batsmen went for quick runs, but got into a bit of trouble at 4/38. Craig Lewis and Daniel Glen steadied the ship before Glen was out for 31 and the score at 87.
Craig Lewis again not out for 19 and Steve Lewis 6 not out.

Nar Nar Goon/Maryknoll played Pakenham Upper/Toomuc at the Pakenham High School, won the toss and went in to have a bat, got off to a shocking start losing early wickets to be five wickets down for 19 runs before Bill Wolstenholme put together some runs with Jack Salan to get us back on the board and end up all out for 188 runs. The best with the bat was Bill Wolstenholme 37 runs, Darren Salan 23 and Stuart Rainer 13.
Then after tea Pakenham Upper/Toomuc had a bat and got off to a flier being three wickets down for 81 runs before being all out for 116 runs. Great close game played in great spirit.
Best of the bowlers Dylan Cameron six overs 3/11, Darren Salan six overs 3/19. Well bowled by all out junior bowlers Dylan, Jack and Tim.
