Time for hard waste

RESIDENTS will be able to rid their properties of green and hard waste next month.
Cardinia Shire mayor Bill Pearson has urged residents to prepare for the green and hard waste collections and for the upcoming fire season. Collections begin on 16 November and all items must be placed on nature strips the day prior.
Trucks will not return for material put out late, but will do so for missed collections if residents contact WM Waste Management by the Monday after the scheduled collection dates.
Mayor Bill Pearson said the clean-up was an important community service with an extra level of importance this year given the devastation of the last fire season.
“If residents use the collections to reduce flammable materials from their properties as well as clean them up, they will make important contributions towards their fire preparedness,” he said.
Residents who have their bins emptied on Mondays must have their hard and green waste out by Sunday 15 November for collection between 16 and 20 November.
Those with Tuesday rubbish collections can expect their hard and green waste to be collected between 23 and 27 November, Wednesday bin collections between 30 November and 4 December, Thursday bin collections between 7 and 11 December and Friday bin collections between 14 and 18 December.
