MEMBERS of Pakenham’s RSL are hoping to sell 8000 poppies next month, but need your help.
Thelma Rein, secretary of the sub-branch, said illness had hit the club hard in the lead-up to Remembrance Day and needed more hands on deck.
“We have our own (volunteers) in the club, but we need about 60 people all together,” she said.
“We’re hoping to sell about 6000 or 8000 something like that – as many as we can.”
The RSL will be selling poppies in several locations around Pakenham including Safeway, Coles, Mitre 10 Mega and Bunnings from Wednesday, 4 November.
Volunteers are asked to give up two hours of their time to help with sales.
The club will also run a Sunday service at St James Anglican Church on 8 November from 9.30am.
To volunteer call Thelma on 5940 2460.
