TOORADIN won a thrilling game against Officer by one wicket and two overs to spare in District Division on Saturday.
The Seagull’s opening bowlers Steve Hamill and Callum O’Hare ripped through the first five Bullant batsmen who were back in the rooms for 18 runs.
However, Officer fought back well to have its middle order bat well to end up all out for 155 in the 41st over.
Callum O’Hare 3/20, Rory Alder 3/34, Steve Hamill 2/30, Aaron Brooks 1/21, Ben Mantel 1/30 were the wicket takers.
Tooradin was in trouble at 3/19, but then a match-winning partnership of 71 between Ben Mantel (39) and Daniel Hunt (39) saw the Seagulls at 4/90.
They then had a mini collapse and was 8/123 when Rory Alder joined Jay Wilson.
They enjoyed a 22-run partnership before Adler was out on the score at 9/145.
Youngster Wilson was joined by Steve Hamill and they set about taking the score from 9/145 to 9/159 in the 43rd over to give Tooradin victory.
Wilson remained on 32 not-out.

Tooradin played Beaconsfield at home and won by 26 runs on the first innings.
The Seagull bowlers set up the win by dismissing Beaconsfield for 125 in the 43rd over.
Best were Rick Holland with 4/8 (nine overs), Matt Finch 2/21, Leigh Fankhauser 1/24 and Michael Ralph 1/31.
Tooradin got away to a quick start before Aaron Bickery was dismissed in the ninth over and the score was 1/42. He made 16 and fellow opener Dave Freeman 37.
The Seagulls lost some wickets in the middle order, but Michael Ralph teamed up with Ricky Holland to have a 30-run partnership.
Ralph made 18 and Holland completed a good double to remain on 31 not out as Tooradin ended up all out for 151.

Last year’s D-grade grand finalists Tooradin and Beaconsfield faced up at Rutter Park.
Batting first, Tooradin was in early trouble at 2/11 before Grant Kernot and Mick Freeman came together for an 88-run third-wicket partnership.
Kernot’s patience was rewarded as he played an intelligent innings to steady the ship.
His 69 not-out led Tooradin to 3/151 from its 40 overs.
Freeman too was patient early before cutting loose with some lusty drives and stylish cut shots. He was out for a smart 40 that brought Brett Murray to the crease. Batting with Kernot he compiled a quick 21 not-out with the two running well between the wickets.
Tooradin’s bowlers restricted Beaconsfield to 101 all out in the 39th over.
Daniel Wallis had the pick of the figures with 3/14.
Man of the match, Mick Freeman also featured in the field with two catches and a direct-hit run-out in a game that was played in good spirits.

Tooradin defeated Clyde by 37 runs on the first innings.
Clyde won the toss and batted and at the end of 40 overs was all out 162.
Best of the bowlers was Matt Thompson 3/28, Ross Simpson returned to form and took 4/22, James Thompson bowled tightly for 1/17 (eight overs). Skipper Shane Somers took 2/36 from his eight overs.
Tooradin was in trouble at 2/14 when Somers joined James Brown.
They added 30 runs before Somers went out. Brown made a solid 31 and James Thompson 31.
The best partnership was between Grant Attewell and James Thompson 87 runs.
Grant ended up top scoring with 58.
At the end of 40 overs Tooradin was 7/199 for its first victory for the year.

Tooradin was defeated by 64 runs on the first innings by Kooweerup with the game closer than the scores indicate.
Chasing Tooradin’s 63, Kooweerup was 2/7 before it had a 28-run partnership.
Jasper Donaldson bowled the opener to give the Seagulls the breakthrough and from 3/35 Kooweerup slumped to 8/60 in the 38th over.
Mitch Dawkins got the early break and young spinner Rohan Simpson then took 3/6 from four well-controlled overs. Dylan Sutton took two good outfield catches.
Eventually two young batsmen took the Kooweerup score past Tooradin’s 63 and at stumps were on 8/127.

Tooradin had its first victory when it defeated Kilcunda-Bass by 29 runs on the first innings.
Tooradin batted first and at the end of 25 overs had scored 3/111.
Four players retired and they were Owen Johnstone, Luke Adams, Jake Dean and Callum Underwood. Fraser Rendall scored 16 in an even team performance. After Kilcunda-Bass batted out its overs it was 4/82.
Wicket takers were Tom Evans (2/13), Lewis Johnson (1/6) and Luke Adams (1/7), with all players having a bowl.

Tooradin travelled to Kilcunda-Bass and played against a good bowling team.
Ned Harrison took a wicket and Tristan Freeman two wickets in two consecutive balls in his first game.
Tooradin’s batsmen didn’t protect their wickets very well except for Bradley Butler who made 19. Jessica Hawkless also batted well.
