CARDINIA Shire Council is holding a free e-waste recycling day for residents on Saturday 14 November at the council depot in Pakenham.
E-waste includes any non-functional electronic items such as computer systems, audio-visual equipment, toasters, hair dryers, microwaves, blenders and other electrical goods. Cardinia Shire councillor Collin Ross said the collection would stop these items going to landfill and having a negative impact on the environment.
“If residents have broken electrical items that cannot be repaired, then they should be recycled.” From 9am to 4pm, residents are invited to drop off their electrical items at the depot, Purton Road, Pakenham. Proof of residency will be required. For further information, contact David Esmore or Ella Boyen on 1300 787 624 or visit www.cardinia.vic. gov.au.
