Sharnie shines across nation

A 19-YEAR-old Nar Nar Goon hairdresser received two national marketing awards, beating other entrants Australia-wide.
The Marketing Communications Executives International (MCEI) held their national marketing awards on 30 October.
Six categories were judged with the overall winner being declared the Australian Marketer of the Year.
A highlight of the awards was when 19-year-old Sharnie Osborne of Jigsaw Hair Studios from Drouin won the Youth Category and further surprised and delighted those at the gala award presentation by also winning the Small Business Award.
Sharnie said she had always been passionate about hairdressing.
In August, she purchased Jigsaw Hair Studio from her former employers and turned what was already a successful salon to a whole new level.
The judges were impressed by her simple and refreshing marketing strategy of total commitment to client care.
In her submission, Sharnie stated “We don’t just want our customers to talk about our services, we want them to rave about us.”
The MCEI Marketing Award judges were extremely impressed that every client gets that little bit extra. This includes a SMS appointment reminder the day before and coffee or tea with home made slice on arrival. Another factor that earned Sharnie her exceptional score was the high expectation and respect that Sharnie holds for her staff.
Unlike many other salons, where the stylists compete, Sharnie has focused on building a happy team that enhances the customer experience.
