Grants for war memorials

COMMUNITY grants for the Restoring Community War Memorials Program are now available.
Inga Peulich, Member for the South Eastern Metropolitan Region and Opposition Parliamentary Secretary for Communities, said applications were open for the grants.
“It is important that we do not forget the people who have served this country in the highest honour,” Ms Peulich said.
“These grants will ensure that Victoria’s war memorials and honour rolls remain places of community pride and respect for future generations.”
Applicants can apply for grants including: Repairs to broken statues that form part of the memorial; the relocation of a memorial to its original position; repairs to barriers and fences that surround and protect a memorial; re-lettering of honour rolls; and new interpretive works for an Avenue of Honour.
Applications will close 15 February next year. For details contact Information Victoria on 1300 366 356.
