LAKESIDE Pakenham residents Judy and Alan Thomson blossomed for the second year in a row with a double award win in the Lakeside Pakenham Gardening Competition.
The couple took out both Best Contemporary Garden and Best Overall Garden against a field of more than 2000 residences to win the coveted awards.
Mrs Thomson said they were so proud to win the award and although they thought their garden was gorgeous, it came as a complete shock.
“Our garden is quite new and was only finished towards the end of last year so we were pleasantly surprised to be nominated to be part of the competition,” Mrs Thomson said.
“Our winning garden stake is definitely going in our front yard.”
Lakeside Pakenham project director Sharon Coates said the Thomson’s garden was just one of the many wonderful gardens in the community.
“We are thrilled that so many people at Lakeside Pakenham have taken the time to create their own botanical masterpieces,” Ms Coates said.
“On behalf of the community I would like to congratulate Judy and Alan for contributing to Lakeside Pakenham’s reputation as a beautiful oasis.”
