Cardinia Shire councillors endorsed the committee of management for a period of six months to manage the new facility until a public meeting can be arranged to elect further members.
Steven Little, Tony Arrigo and Glen Bardon will manage the day-to-day operations of the auditorium, promote and market the venue and develop a business plan.
Councillor Bill Pearson praised the project, the first new council-owned building in Bunyip for 21 years.
“This project is very dear to my heart,” he said.
“The facility is Mickey Mouse. It’s not just a shed, it can be used for all sorts of community concerts, and it’s a real asset for Bunyip.”
