Cora Lynn expands

By Melissa Meehan
THE TOWNSHIP of Cora Lynn is set to grow, if council has its way.
Cardinia councillors voted to write to the Minister for Planning Justin Madden, at Monday night’s council meeting, to rezone land in the town to make way for residents wanting to subdivide their land.
Councillor Stuart Halligan raised the motion, supporting the application.
“The town has 10 homes within the residential limits of the township,” he said.
“This letter would allow two properties to build an extra dwelling on each.”
He said the proposed new houses was something he would support, considering the owners had spent money to restore the old Butter Factory in town.
“All these people want to do is increase the town by two dwellings,” Cr Halligan said.
“That’s why it should go to the State Government to review the situation.”
Councillor Collin Ross supported his colleague, describing the request as “excellent”.
