CARDINIA Foundation CEO Di Padgett bid a tearful farewell to all involved with the organisation on Tuesday, stepping down from the position.
Ms Padgett described her role with the organisation as a humbling experience and said stepping down was a case of “bitter sweet” expectations.
“Over my time her I’ve learnt a lot and asked many silly questions,” she said.
“But it was the time of my life.”
Ms Padgett said people sometimes didn’t realise the differences made by the organisation in someone’s life.
“Just a smile is enough to know we’ve made a difference,” she said.
“I believe this organisation can go on to be a $1 million foundation, imagine how much difference we could make then.”
Ms Padgett will still be seen in Pakenham, taking a position as director of the Pakenham Community Bendigo Bank and will continue her work with the Pakenham Secondary College program that teaches students how to improve their self-esteem.
“I loved being part of philanthropy and giving,” she said.
“Thankyou and goodbye.”
