GRADE 5 students recently took part in a leadership training day, thanks to the Bendigo Bank.
Students from Lang Lang, Kooweerup, Bayles Regional and Tooradin primary schools attended the event at Jells Park Scout Camp.
The bank sponsored the program, which aimed to develop students’ public speaking, leadership and team building skills.
“It was designed to strengthen the leadership abilities of the students and help prepare them for the responsibilities of Year 6 and secondary school,” said Tooradin Primary School principal Marjorie Scarce.
She said students learnt about setting goals and discussed the skills needed for speaking to an audience.
“Students greatly enjoyed the team games, the chance to meet students from neighbouring schools and to also practise delivering a speech.”
The program was designed by the bank to unite schools in the inner Gippsland area and provide students with a sense of community.
