FLINDERS MP Greg Hunt took a stroll with the Kooweerup Walking group recently.
The group, which meets weekly, is forced to walk dangerously close to trucks and cars along Station Street, which lacks a footpath.
“It was a pleasure to join the walking group on its weekly trek around Kooweerup. The new Coalition State Government’s commitment to build the Kooweerup Bypass as soon as possible will improve life immensely for local residents. It will remove trucks from the town centre and stop the traffic snarls that regularly lock up local streets,” Mr Hunt said.
“There is clearly a need for the footpath along Station Street to be extended to meet the drain walking track. The current situation is quite dangerous. I will approach the State Government and ask that the footpath be constructed as part of the bypass project.”
