CARDINIA Shire Council held a successful ‘open house’ session about the Officer Precinct Structure Plan (OPSP) in December.
The council is continuing to progress with the OPSP, with a view to having the draft documents available for public exhibition in February/March.
Cardinia’s manager strategic planning John Holland said work would continue on the alignment of the north–south arterial road.
“Council is working with the State Government to clarify requirements for the area,” Mr Holland said.
“An assessment of fire management requirements for the north–west area of the plan is being undertaken to ensure public safety is carefully considered in future developments.”
The precinct plan is a blueprint for one of the fastest growing parts of Melbourne.
In the next 15 years, Officer will become one of the most liveable and desirable residential locations south-east of Melbourne.
