PAKENHAM South residents have applauded the efforts of three desalination workers, who risked life and limb in their attempts to reinstate a levee bank as flood waters swept the area.
Trevor Price and Toni Coutts said the men, Dave Lieunen, Ray Coffey and Shane McDonough, worked from 8.30am until 2pm on Saturday without a break to protect nearby homes from the rising flood waters.
“If they’d slipped off the mud bank they would have been gone,” Mr Price said.
“It was a pretty good effort.”
