According to plan

“FEW human eyes have ever seen this.”
There’s a quote designed to send a shiver down your spine.
If you’ve ever wondered about an aloof and incomprehensible Creator who watches us like an ant farm, then this is the film for you.
Matt Damon takes on his usual clean-cut all-American good guy role as David Norris, an aspiring American politician who seems destined for great things.
He is constantly drawn to Elise (Emily Blunt) a ballet dancer and free spirit who is the perfect foil to David’s dogged political determination.
Enter “The Adjustment Bureau” … men in black who keep “the plan” going as it should.
The star-crossed lovers are not meant to be together … and the men in black will go to some pretty extreme measures to make it so.
The film contrasts the romantic choices in their respective life plans, and the effect they will have on their lives and possibly the world.
It’s a film about destiny, fate, chance and God – to say any more would give away too much of the plot.
Full marks to Emily Blunt for playing the love interest in a beautifully playful and appealing way.
The movie does have enough redeeming features to sustain interest, but sadly the ending doesn’t really live up to what came before, and is a bit lame.
In summary, the film leaves the viewer with a heartfelt desire to see Damon extend himself by taking on something totally against type … a drug dealer or serial killer.
But as long as Damon doesn’t want to frighten the horses or scare off the cash cow, he’ll keep making these more sedate and safe offerings.
