HE’S bound to be the star of the show.
He’s cute and cuddly and is a hard worker.
Wheels the Kelpie is sure to melt some hearts and get attention from all those who attend the Pakenham Show over the weekend.
Working dog demonstrator Travis Scott will be demostrating his dogs, including the super-cute Wheels, all day Saturday.
“I’ll be demonstrating teaching or training dogs from young pups to older dogs,” he said.
“I’ll start with a little pup and then bring in the older dogs to show people what a bit of work can achieve.”
He said the demonstration aimed to show what these dogs were capable of and how much training went into them.
“I normally wait until the dogs are nearly 12 months old before we put them to work, and it usually takes two years before they are fully trained with no stress.”
It is not the first time Mr Scott has been at the show, he’s shown sheep for 16 years and been training working dogs for 11 years.
“Wheels will be the star of the show,” he said. “He’s 11 weeks old, a blue and tan keplie – which is very rare and hard to breed. “He’s sure to make the girls go gaga.”
Mr Scott and Wheels will be at the Pakenham Show throughout the day.
