THE first round of the foursomes championship at the Lang Lang Golf Club was a board event – the annual alternate stroke event always making for an interesting round of golf.
Winners with a combined 23 handicap were Arch Janssen (20) and Shane Bydder (26), with a nett score of 66.
Balls down the line go to a nett 70.
A recent regular Thursday competition saw Michael Fahey (12hc) pull one out of the bag, scoring an impressive win with 42 stableford points.
Rod Jamieson and Alan Leslie won the 2BBB competition with 50 points.
A Tuesday stroke competition saw Bill Sherriff (26hc) shoot the field to pieces with a nett 69.
Ross Warren (28) scored a very impressive 46 points, with Ruth May (44) taking her maiden victory in the women’s event with 34 points, in the Labour Day stableford event.
