THE junior sides – the under-15s and the under-13 South team – fought out grand finals, with the former having a great win.
UNDER 15
The under-15s had a fantastic win in a great game of cricket with the win against Nar Nar Goon/Maryknoll having many highlights.
Officer made 112 with captain Jesse Longmuir making a great 44 and also bolwing a tight spell in a crucial stage of the game.
Mitch Whitham batted superbly for 33 – and with 2/7 from 4.3 overs had a sensational game to win the man of the match award. Toyosi Solanke had a brilliant hat-trick with all wickets bowled and took 3/13. Billy Temby 1/8 off six overs bowled very well as did Ryan Bromley 1/5 from six overs.
Mitch Tivendale also bowled well at a pressure stage of the game to take 2/7 with two key batsmen. Billy Temby also made a valuable 13 as Officer bowled out Nar Nar Goon for 82 to win the grand final.
UNDER 13
The under-13s played Cardinia and made 108 batting first with Tyler Clark and Jamie Longmuir doing well opening the batting and Tyler Clark making 21 and Jamie made a good 13.
Mitch Whitham was also looking good and was out for 13 run out. J. Watts made 9 and Kai Harris 6.
Officer found it tough early with the ball with an opening stand by Cardinia of 78. Jake Mackenzie took 2/21 and Callum Porter 1/18 with the new ball.
Tyler Clark had 1/17 from five overs but Cardinia made 4/112 to win the premiership in the 30th over.
Well done to coach Tony Whitham and the side on a great season.
