PETER Pan is the theme for the Homegarth Kindergarten float at the Yakkerboo Festival this year, and the kids are going all out with their costumes.
Preparations for the Yakkerboo Festival street parade are going very well for these kids with their costumes and props done and float almost completed.
One of the parent organisers, Ellise Sheppard, said there would be around 28 children on the float along with parents and teachers and everyone will be dressed to the theme.
“We’re going to have Peter Pans, Wendys, Tinkerbells, pirates and mermaids,” Ms Sheppard said.
“The kids choose what they like and the parents will be helping them out with their costumes. They’re making pirate hats and Peter Pan hats and fairy wands at kinder at the moment.”
Their float, which is in the shape of a boat, is taking shape and with final adjustments being made, Ms Sheppard said, adding that the kids are getting really excited.
“They’re having a ball,” she said.
“They’re having so much fun and wanting to play with their wands and hats when the paint hasn’t even dried yet!”
