MR YAKKERBOO will be celebrating his 35th birthday this year on Sunday 3 April and everyone is welcome to join in with celebrations.
The Great Australian Bakehouse has kindly provided the cake, which everyone can enjoy and icy poles will also be distributed to help wash down the cake.
As Mr Yakkerboo reaches the 35 mark, committee president Graeme Moore revisited the origins of Mr Yakkerboo.
“Mr Yakkerboo was created by the school children of Pakenham 35 years ago,” Mr Moore said.
“He is his own personality, he’s not like anything. Thirty five years ago, the children of Pakenham made tiles out of paper mache, stuck these tiles onto a wire frame and that’s what he’s ended up looking like.”
He has undergone a few changes over the years, and will soon need a facelift to keep himself looking great.
“He needs to be recreated,” Mr Moore said.
“We need to find someone who will kindly put his hand up and give him a facelift.”
