Villinger’s side a winner

THE Cardinia Lakes Syndicate three-ball ambrose for men was played at the Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
The winning team was Andrew Villinger (2), Chris Towns (1) and Rick Alexander (0), returning a scratch score of 57 and a nett score of 56.5.
Runners-up were Damien Pintar (4), Brian Webster (13) and Kerri McKenna (44, with a scratch score of 67 and a nett score of 56 5/6.)
Third was the team of John Nooy (15), Blake McGrath (22) and Matt Cooper (13), for a 67 gross and a nett of 58 2/3.
Rod Walker was nearest the pin on the second hole, with the fifth hole going to Stephen Menes. Rick Alexander was the winner of the eighth hole and the 14th went to Matt Cooper. The 16th hole winner was Damien Pintar and the second shot on the 13th saw T. Perkins emerge the winner.
The ‘Straight 6’ was won by David Rio and the ‘Straight 11’ went to Ron Horne. The longest drive on the ninth hole saw Darren Richards win, while Reggie Whitehead was the winner on the 18th hole.
The Saturday morning competition was a stableford with a shotgun start. Golfers were competing for the annual Yakkerboo Day trophy. Jason Duggan was the winner with 43 points from Robert Moffitt with 41.
The nearest the pin on the second hole went to Noel Bonne, with the fifth hole voucher going to Max Craig, who also won the 14th hole. Greg Butler won the eighth hole, while Mark Turner was victorious on the 16th hole.
The longest drive winners were Shane Wilkinson (A Grade), Ray Coutts (B Grade) and Beau Derix (C Grade).
Down the line balls winners were Ray Coutts 40, David Wylie and Noel Bonne, 39, Ross Stewart and Steve J Osborne 38, Michael Barth 37, Adam Williamson 36 and Travis Wheeler 36.
This week is stableford and the following week is the monthly medal for April.

Section 1: No play.
Section 2: Pakenham played Drouin at Morwell and came home winners, five matches to four, with Matt Shores winning on the 19th hole.
Section 3: Warragul hosted the Section 1 pennant teams with Pakenham winning seven matches to two against Moe. The two matches the team lost went to the 19th hole. Ron Thoulliss and Doug Amos won their matches on the 20th hole and Tomm Cassidy was the winner on the 19th.

The Monday stableford competition was won by Ian Shennan from Bob White, both coming in with 43 points.
Nearest the pin on the second hole was won by Ron Winsall, with the eighth hole going to John Roberts and the 14th to Leigh Noonan.
Down the line balls saw Ron Carroll 42, Rob Bishop and Howard Ferguson 41, Merv Owen and Barry McDonald 40, John Hungerford and Patrick Duane 39, Neil Currie 38, Malcolm Clay 38 and Leigh Noonan 38 and Chris Dalton 37 winners..

Geoff Sullivan came in with 45 points to win from Bob Dose (42) and Murray Shepherd (40).
The nearest the pin on the second hole went to Richard Murphy, with the fifth hole going to Robert Yates. Anthony Wynen was the winner on the eighth hole and Peter Lawlor took out the 16th.
The Wednesday Super Competition was won by Geoff Sullivan with the nearest the pin winner being Bob Dowse.
Down the line winners were Robin McCrae, Ron Horne and Alex Green, all 40, Robert Sandiford, George Coffey and Peter Egbers 39, Michael Payne, Michael Bainbridge, Glenn Charles, Cliff Pain and Brian Doherty, all 38, and Hayden Bristow 37.

The nearest the pin second shot on the 11th hole was won by Leigh Noonan and the nearest the pin on the 14th hole saw Ray Leonard win.
The raffle winner was Les Jones.

The winner was Damien Rhyne with 44 points from John Moore 41.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:Ladies

The annual Charity Day was held last Thursday with all proceeds going to Outlook.
The ladies hosted golfers from six clubs. The winners were Kay Jones and Audrey Shepherd with 48 points from Ann Bell and Adele Mahony with 44.
The Best Nine Out went to Nola Kerslake and Phillipa Bebee and the Best Nine In saw Toni Owen and Irene Walker win.
The winner of the raffle of a cake made and decorated by Marg Andrews was Marg Jackson.
Between $700 and $800 was raised for Outlook.
This week is a stableford event.
