MOST eyes will be on Beaconsfield this year, when the Casey-Cardinia Netball League starts next week.
Beaconsfield had an impressive 2010, beating Pakenham 52-28 in the grand final.
Beaconsfield were rewarded for their great year, with Kellie Holland winning the A grade league best and fairest with 24 votes, while Jasmine Maddocks added the 2010 grand final best on court award to her 2009 A grade best and fairest league medal.
However, netball followers will have to wait a week to see Beaconsfield, as it has the bye in round one.
Berwick comes off a solid 2010, finishing fourth in the home and away season, and going down to Pakenham in the semi finals. Berwick plays Narre Warren away in round one.
Cranbourne needs to turn around a poor 2010 season, when it finished ninth.
Tara Cecil was a shining light for the club, finishing third in the A grade best and fairest on 16 votes.
Cranbourne holds a rescheduled round 18 match against Devon Meadows on Saturday – then officially starts the season with a clash against Doveton on 16 April.
Devon Meadows finished seventh in 2010 and will try to boost their position when they commence the season against Cranbourne, followed by the round one match at home against Hampton Park.
Doveton head to Casey Fields to face Cranbourne first-up. Hampton Park finished eighth last year and have their first round match at Devon Meadows.
Keysborough were close to playing in the grand final, losing to Beaconsfield in the semi-final.
Fiona Smith was in great form during the season, finishing second in the A Grade best and fairest with 17 votes. Keysborough faces Tooradin at home in the first round.
Narre Warren finished last in 2010 and will need to improve to avoid bottom spot again this year. They start the season at home against Berwick.
Pakenham finished runners-up in 2010, beaten in the grand final by Beaconsfield. They have their round one match against ROC.
ROC will play Pakenham in their first game, as they look to improve on fifth place last season. Tooradin-Dalmore finished sixth and head to Keysborough for their first match.
