Gift is music to Geoff’s ears

AFTER weeks of agonising over the theft of his guitar, Kooweerup’s Stuart Coster has seen kindness at a new level from Pony Music in Hallam.
The Hallam music store has donated a Tanglewood acoustic guitar and hard case to him, valued at more than $800.
After reading about how Mr Coster’s beloved guitar was stolen from his home, the guys at Pony Music, who have also lost instruments after a spate of robberies, decided to present him with a new one.
Mr Coster was speechless upon hearing the news, and is very excited about the new guitar.
“I can’t explain how good it is,” he said.
“At first I thought it was too good to be true. I play it every chance I get.”
Because he didn’t have insurance on his old guitar, Mr Coster couldn’t get it replaced. He said he won’t be making the same mistake twice
“It’s quite horrible to have that happen to me but when people like them offer something for nothing just to help you through a hard situation, it’s good to know people like this still exist,” he said.
“I rang up first thing and got insurance for it and I try not to let it leave my sight.”
Pony Music offers rehearsal studios, a recording studio, instrument tuition and production hire. Over the years it has become a mecca for local musicians and bands, as well as top Australian and international touring artists who visit regularly.
“A massive thank you to Pony Music,’ Mr Coster said.
“I couldn’t thank them enough.”
