BUNYIP got the jump from the first ball in A Grade netball and took a quick lead in the first half. The Stars saw enough of the ball but were unable to convert opportunities onto the scoreboard.
Karly Matthews and Jessie Scampolino worked hard in the centre court, supported strongly by Bianca Collis on the wing. Becky Hower and LaineEastwell rotated well in the goals with Di Collis switching from defence to offence late in the game.
Juniors Abbey Kingi and Breanna Ralston showed that they have the potential to make it as senior players in the future.

It was another tough slog through the four quarters this week. The team is a completely new combination this year, so the girls are still learning to work together and there have been lots of position changes.
The Bray sisters worked hard in defence and have showed improvement and potential to be a strong defensive team.
Jacinta Bray took numerous intercepts and got her hand to everything, well done. Josie Johnston, Jordy Wright and Carly Louch ran hard through the mid court and battled against a tough zone defence by a stronger and more experienced Bunyip side.
Chan Pumphrey and Roxy Thompson worked well in the goal circle when the ball got down the attacking end, yet missed crucial goals. An excellent first game by Jenny Law who shot well. Thanks also to Emma Masal for filling in.

Awards: Jacinta Bray, Roxy Thompson, Carly Louch, Jenny Law.

Bunyip got off to an early lead after a slow start by the Stars – the goalers struggling to adjust to the windy conditions.
There was some awesome defending by Hannah Aarts and Sammy Barr which made it difficult for the Bunyip goalers and a fantastic comeback by the Stars saw the scores level at half time.
Numerous turnovers in the third quarter saw Bunyip take control and stretch the lead to nine goals at the final break. Garfield came back strongly in the last quarter and only went down by six goals.

Awards: Ruby Collis, Sammy Barr.

Garfield came up against a strong Bunyip team that got away during the first half (half time 26 to 12). A few easy mistakes were made during this first half but the girls kept their heads up and went to work in the second half to keep up with them.
In the second half, Bunyip scored 16 goals and Garfield scored 15 goals. There were some excellent mid-court drives by Emma Masal and some great teamwork in the goal ring by Abbey Kingi and Meg Bogart.
A special mention to Ashlee Vitiritt who showed determination in the last quarter and played hard at the ball. This was exactly what the team needed to do for the whole game.
Bunyip 42 d Garfield 27.

Ashley Mouser, with the help of the centre players Hailey Robb and Rebecca O’Halloran, got the Stars off to a great start taking the lead nine goals to two.
For the next two quarters all the girls put in a great effort with Katelyn Vitiritti in goals and Britney Edwards, Maddy Synan, Paige Hansen and Hailey Robb holding up play through the centre court.
The injured Tanita Bow tried her best in attack and threw up 10 goals for the game. Hailey Schreurs played a versatile game in the centre, switching from attack to defence. It was a great win and a good team game by all the girls.

Despite losing to Bunyip the Stars started strongly and kept the scores fairly even. Katrina Guy, Sam Zoljan and Emily Horsburgh worked hard across the mid court and combined well together.
The winning combinations of Kym Diston and Molly Larsen in goals and Karly Bow and Maddie Larsen in defence gave the team a good head start.
All game, the Stars benefitted from the hard work of Natalie Zoljan. Unfortunately, the scores didn’t really reflect how well the girls performed.

Awards: Katrina Guy, Molly Larsen, Tylah Makai, Rachelle O’Connor.
